A website for a candle business, built on one jar

A candle is bought for a scent that can’t travel through a screen. What people can judge online is everything around it: the jar and its label, the notes of the scent, the wax, how long it burns, and whether the person who pours it knows what they’re doing.

The kit Product — An immersive website for one product, shot like a film.

On a marketplace, a candle gets the same listing as every other candle: a square photo, a title, a price. This page gives one candle — the scent you’re known for, or the one that sells — the whole screen: the jar as a 3D model, a close look at the label and the wax, and your words on how it’s made.

Beside it wait up to five scents, each with its notes written out in a line. The buy button opens a Stripe payment link, your Etsy listing or your own shop — wherever the candle is sold today.

What your site shows

  1. The candle and the offer

The first screen says what it is and what it costs: the candle’s name, its type — a soy candle in amber glass, a beeswax pillar —, the weight next to the price, and the buy button under your headline.

  2. How it’s poured

A statement in two short lines opens this part, and a paragraph follows: the wax you use, the wick, where the fragrance comes from, the workshop or kitchen where it’s made. If the candles are made by hand, this is where you say so in your own words.

  3. The jar, close to

Chapter one looks closely at the object: the glass or the ceramic, the lid, the print of the label, the surface of the wax — as much as your model holds — beside a title and a short text.

  4. Every scent, with its notes

Chapter three lines up the scents, up to five, each with a colour, a name of up to 14 characters and its notes in one line, so they can be compared before anyone chooses.

  5. Wax, burn time, the button

The order card answers what a buyer checks before paying: the wax, the weight, the burn time you measured, the size of the box, delivery. Then the price, and a single button.

Have this ready

  • The candle’s name and what it is: “Soy candle in amber glass”, “Beeswax pillar”.
  • Its weight or size, and its price.
  • The scents — five at most — each named in a word or two, given a colour, and described by its notes.
  • The jar in 3D, as a .glb under 25 MB with its label; until you have it, a perfume flask takes its place.
  • Two short lines, and a paragraph on how you pour and with what.
  • The candle’s warnings and safety text, as they appear on its label.
  • Where the button goes: a Stripe payment link, an Etsy listing or your shop.

Worth knowing

Put the warnings on the page

In the EU, a fragrance can oblige a scented candle to carry a CLP hazard label, on top of the fire-safety information the EN 15494 standard sets out. Since December 2024, the General Product Safety Regulation also asks online offers to show who makes a product and its warnings: put them on the order card, or on the page your button leads to.

Model it with the lid off

The page shows the candle unlit — there’s no flame. Model the jar with its lid off, so the close view reaches the surface of the wax and the wick, and keep the label artwork sharp enough to be read up close.

Let the scent be picked at checkout

When every scent costs the same, one payment link can sell them all: in the Stripe dashboard, give it a drop-down field listing the scents — made there, it allows up to ten choices. Each payment arrives with the scent that was picked.

Questions

Does the candle burn on the page?
No. The page shows the candle as an object — the jar, the label, the lid, the wax — and adds no flame or flicker, which keeps the attention on the thing someone will hold.
I sell three sizes. Can they all go on it?
A page has one price and one button, so it suits the size you sell most — the 200 g jar, say — with the travel tin and the large one named on the order card. If each size has its own price, the button can open your shop instead, where every size is listed.
My candles sell on Etsy. Can the button go there?
Yes: the button opens whatever link you paste, and an Etsy listing is a link like any other. The page lives at your own address, which you can print on cards and labels, while the sale stays where it happens today.
There’s no 3D model of my jar yet. What then?
Then the demo’s perfume flask stands in, carrying your candle’s name — useful for trying the wizard, wrong for selling a candle. A jar is among the simpler objects to model: a cylinder, a lid and a label wrapped round it. The call included with the kit can go on making it with you.
Can I run a discount for the holidays?
Yes, in Stripe: a payment link can accept promotion codes, which you create in its dashboard. Put the code on the order card or in your newsletter, or share a link with the code already filled in.
